The first method is hot melt extrusion welding joint. When welding, it is generally required to align the broken parts of the metal as much as possible to reduce the interface gap. This kind of extruded melt material welding should generally be internal and external double-sided welding. For pipes with an inner diameter of more than 800mm, workers can enter the pipe for welding, but for pipes with an inner diameter of less than 800mm, this method is difficult to achieve. The advantage of this method is more convenient and flexible; Simple construction tools (only welding torch and power supply); Low material cost. The disadvantage is that the extrusion pressure of the welding torch is limited, and the compactness of the extruded molten material is not enough, so it is difficult to ensure that the joint is sealed and does not leak. The cost of labor is rising, making the total cost of this method of connecting is also rising.


The second method is electro - thermal bonding. The connection of the electric hot melt belt is to conduct hot air extrusion welding first, and then the electric hot melt belt is welded to the outer trough joint. This method is carried out on the basis of hot melt extrusion welding connection, so the sealing of the joint is better, but the construction time and the total cost will also increase. According to some data, this method needs to weld the disconnection of the steel strip of the pipe crest. It is also introduced that the axial joints which are not covered by the electric heating melt belt shall be welded with extruded melt material when connected, and then welded with extruded melt material in the pipeline when necessary. The author thinks that this connection method is safe and reliable in the ideal state, that is, under the condition that the roundness of the pipe is maintained well, but due to the influence of permanent deformation of the steel, it is impossible to maintain the high roundness of the pipe in the long-term stacking and transportation. Therefore, the sealing of the connection method using the electric hot melt belt welding can not be guaranteed.


The third method is a heat-shrinkable tube (belt) connection. The connection of the heat shrinkable tube (belt) is made by heating the heat shrinkable tube (belt) with flame to shrink it, and then the hot melt adhesive on the inner surface of the tube is bonded to the outer surface of the tube. The heat shrinkable tube (belt) can form a constant packing force after cooling and curing. When this kind of connection is adopted, it shall be combined with the internal (or external) hot melt extrusion welding. If the inner side is not welded, measures such as plugging should be taken to prevent rainwater from entering the cavity of the corrugated steel ribs to avoid corrosion of the steel ribs. It can be seen that the connection is also built on the basis of hot melt extrusion welding, rather than being carried out separately. If the heat shrinkable tube (belt) connection method is used alone, its advantages are still more, such as easy connection; Simple construction tools (only flame spray gun); Although the electron accelerator equipment used to make the heat-shrinkable tube (belt) is more expensive, the material cost is acceptable.


The fourth method is the clamp connection. Clamp connection is to connect and fix the pipe to be connected through the metal clamp, and the elastic sealing ring and water blocking foam are used for sealing. Its advantages are convenient and flexible connection; Strong adaptability to field conditions; Construction tools are simple (only manual tools); Less labor costs. The connection method of clamp and sealing belt can certainly meet the sealing requirements of the drainage pipe, but can not guarantee to meet the sealing requirements of the sewage pipe.


Two or more connection methods should be considered to ensure the reliability of the seal when the steel band reinforced polyethylene helical bellows are applied to the sewer line. However, a variety of methods in parallel will make the construction cost significantly higher, and still cannot guarantee zero leakage at the joint.
